Certified translation of a birth certificate
A birth certificate is one of the documents you need most often when relocating, enrolling a child in school, or handling civil-status paperwork abroad. We translate it and certify it with the PRAVIS bureau seal — and we tell you plainly if the receiving office may instead require a sworn translator or an apostille on the original.
When a birth-certificate translation is needed
Families request a certified birth-certificate translation for school or kindergarten enrollment, family reunification and residence applications, passport or ID procedures for a child, inheritance and insurance matters, and employer or bank checks abroad. Purpose shapes formality — a school abroad often accepts a bureau-sealed certified translation, while registering a foreign birth with a civil registry usually does not.
Bureau seal vs. sworn translation vs. apostille
Our default is a certified translation with the PRAVIS bureau seal: accurate rendering, company stamp, signed statement, and reference number — the same approach as our certified-translation service.
A sworn translator may be required by civil registry offices, courts, and some government steps in Poland, Germany, or Spain. An apostille legalises the original in the country of issue; it is separate from translation and not issued by PRAVIS — see also our apostille support. Final requirements are set by the receiving institution.

What we need from you
A readable colour scan of every page, the target language, and — if known — the country and institution (school, USC/Standesamt/Registro Civil, consulate, employer). Names, dates, and place spellings must match the original; if anything is illegible, we flag it before you pay.
No guarantees we cannot make
We do not guarantee that a particular school, registry, university, consulate, employer, or other office will accept a given certification format. Requirements vary by country and change over time. We follow standard bureau-seal practice for certified translation, flag known sworn or apostille cases, and leave the final decision to the receiving authority.
Frequently asked questions
Is a bureau seal enough, or do I need a sworn translator?
Schools, clinics, and many private employers often accept a PRAVIS bureau-sealed certified translation. Civil registry offices, courts, and some residence or citizenship procedures often require a sworn translator. We recommend based on the country and office you name.
Do I need an apostille as well as a translation?
Sometimes. An apostille authenticates the original for use abroad under the Hague Convention; it is issued in the country of origin, not by PRAVIS. Many everyday recipients only ask for a certified translation. If your checklist mentions apostille, we can advise on the typical sequence.
Will this translation be accepted by my school, office, or consulate?
Often yes for everyday private and school use with a bureau seal — but acceptance is always decided by the receiving institution. Tell us the country (e.g. Poland, Germany, Spain) and office if you know them; we recommend honestly before you order.
Will this guarantee school enrollment or a visa?
No. We deliver an accurate, properly certified translation. Enrollment, visa, and registry decisions always rest with the receiving institution.
