Bureau seal vs notarised / sworn translation in Ukraine
PRAVIS’s default product is a certified translation with the bureau seal and a statement of accuracy — not a sworn (присяжний) or notarised (нотаріальний) translation. Many schools, private clinics, employers and everyday recipients in Ukraine accept a bureau-sealed certified translation when they simply need a clear, attributable rendering of a foreign-language original.
Some Ukrainian procedures are stricter. Notarial acts, court submissions and certain state migration or registry steps may require a translation performed or certified under Ukrainian notarial rules, or another locally recognised format. Requirements also vary between institutions and change over time. If your document is headed to a нотаріус, a court or a named state office that typically rejects bureau seals, we will say so plainly rather than sell a format that may be refused.

Ukraine is a party to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. A public document issued in another convention country — for example a Polish birth certificate presented in Kyiv — may need an apostille from the competent authority in the issuing country before Ukrainian offices treat it as an authentic public document. The reverse also applies when Ukrainian originals travel to other Hague countries. An apostille legalises the original (or an official copy); it does not replace translation, and PRAVIS does not issue apostilles.
As general guidance, obtain the apostille first, then translate the document including the apostille certificate when the receiving office asks for both. Always confirm the exact sequence with the Ukrainian institution you are dealing with — practices differ between schools, clinics and state offices.
