Certified translation for documents used in Ireland
Submitting documents to a school, HSE clinic, employer or public office in Dublin? PRAVIS prepares accurate translations with the bureau seal and an accuracy statement. In Ireland a certified translation is often enough: there is no continental “sworn translator” register of the AT/FR/CZ type — yet a particular recipient, or a foreign authority involved in an Irish filing, may still ask for a sworn, notarised or apostilled format.

Documents translated for Ireland
For schools in Dublin and elsewhere in Ireland, we translate birth certificates, school-leaving certificates, diplomas, supplements, grade transcripts, attendance letters and admission correspondence. For medical use, clients send patient histories, laboratory results, doctors’ reports, prescriptions, vaccination records and insurance papers for HSE or a private clinic. We reproduce subjects, grades, stamps and material annotations consistently; we do not alter facts to make a file appear more favourable to the recipient.
We also handle birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates, criminal-record certificates, address and employment confirmations, bank and tax papers, powers of attorney and official correspondence. For employers and HR, files may include contracts, references and qualification documents; for GNIB or immigration-related packs — invitations and evidence of accommodation, employment or funds, without promising any decision. A driving file can include the licence, an entitlement history and a letter from the issuing authority for licence exchange. Before translation, tell us exactly who will receive the document in Dublin or another Irish city.

Bureau seal and accuracy statement in Ireland
In international English, “certified translation” can describe a translation accompanied by a bureau’s seal, signature and accuracy statement. That is PRAVIS’s standard service — and it often fits Irish practice well: an English-language environment where the recipient expects a clear certified translation rather than a continental “sworn” status. Ireland does not have the same sworn-translator register as Austria, France or Czechia, so a bureau seal with an accuracy statement is frequently the practical and sufficient format.
Even so, a particular Dublin recipient — a school, employer, court or notary — or a foreign authority involved in an Irish filing may still ask for a sworn, notarised or apostilled format. We do not present the bureau seal as an “Irish sworn translation” and will say plainly when the written requirement points to another route. Send the recipient’s instructions and we will explain whether our format matches.

Send files nowApostille notes for Ireland
An apostille authenticates the origin of a signature or seal on a public document for international use. It does not validate the document’s substantive claims and does not replace translation. When a document issued in Ukraine, Poland or another Hague Apostille Convention state is destined for Ireland, any required apostille must normally come from the competent authority in the issuing country. PRAVIS does not issue apostilles. A sensible general sequence is to obtain the apostille first and then translate the complete document, including the apostille wording and stamps, but the Irish recipient should confirm the sequence before you spend money.
Regulation (EU) 2016/1191 removes the apostille requirement for certain public documents exchanged between EU member states, including documents covering specified facts such as birth, marriage, domicile or residence and absence of a criminal record. A multilingual standard form can sometimes reduce the need for translation as well. Diplomas, medical records and private documents need separate assessment. Do not buy an apostille merely “to be safe”: ask the named school, HSE service, employer, court or other recipient.
How the process works from Wrocław
Send a clear scan or photograph of every relevant page to office.pravis@gmail.com or via the form and tell us the language pair, purpose and receiving institution. We typically quote within 5–7 minutes. Attach any English instructions you have: terms such as certified, sworn, notarised, original, certified copy and apostille can materially change the right route. We review legibility, page count and the preferred spelling of personal details against the passport, then quote the price, turnaround and proposed certification format.
Once you approve the quote, the translator prepares the text and the bureau certifies the finished document with the PRAVIS seal and accuracy statement. You can receive the certified PDF remotely. When a paper copy is useful, we mail or courier it from our Wrocław HQ to Dublin, elsewhere in Ireland or another country. We can explain practical document-format issues, but neither a precise translation nor apostille guidance can guarantee a visa, permission to remain, driving-licence exchange, admission or any other outcome.
Frequently asked questions
Will Ireland accept a translation with the PRAVIS bureau seal?
Many schools, employers, HSE clinics and other everyday recipients do — often expecting exactly a certified translation with an accuracy statement. If a recipient explicitly asks for a sworn, notarised or apostilled format, the bureau seal does not replace that requirement.
Does Ireland have a sworn-translator register like France or Austria?
Not in the same continental sense. Irish practice often relies on certified translation with an accuracy statement; individual recipients may still request another format.
Do you translate school, HSE and driving documents for Dublin?
Yes. We translate all three categories, but the required certification should be checked with the particular school, clinic, employer or other service receiving the file.
Does my document need an apostille for use in Ireland?
It depends on the issuing country, document type and procedure. Some EU public documents are exempt; in other cases the competent authority in the country of origin issues the apostille.
Can I order online and receive a paper translation in Ireland?
Yes. Send a scan to office.pravis@gmail.com — we typically quote within 5–7 minutes; we deliver the PDF electronically and can mail a stamped paper copy from Wrocław.
Does a certified translation guarantee an Irish visa or permission to remain?
No. We are responsible for the translation and stated certification format, while the competent Irish authority alone decides the application.
